WAV Converter

Convert WAV files to MP3, FLAC, M4A and more in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, M4B, MP4, AAC, OGA or WEBA, one or many. Drop them here or paste with ⌘V / Ctrl+V. Choose what each becomes on its row.

Runs on your device. Files are read and converted in your browser and aren't uploaded.

WAV

  • Lossless
  • Uncompressed
  • Made for editing

Sound stored exactly as it was recorded, with no compression. WAV files are big — about 10 MB a minute at CD quality — but every editor, DAW and computer opens them, so they're the standard for recording, editing and handing over masters.

Learn more about WAV files

A WAV is lossless, so it becomes FLAC with every sample unchanged, and MP3, M4A and MP4 or another lossy format at the bitrate you choose — much smaller, with detail you're unlikely to hear left out.

  • WAV files can be up to 2 GB and 4 hours long.
  • Making M4A, MP4, M4B or AAC needs the browser's AAC encoder (Chrome, Edge and Safari — not Firefox yet); OGA and WEBA its Opus encoder; MP3, WAV and FLAC are made in any modern browser.

How to do it

  1. Choose your WAV files, or drop them on the page — as many as you like.
  2. Each starts as an MP3; pick another format for every file with Convert to in Settings, or for one file on its row.
  3. Convert all, then download each file, or all of them in one .zip.
