When you'd do this
You need images in the one format every editor, design tool and document takes, lossless and with transparency — logos from SVG, icons from ICO files, stills from WebP and AVIF.
What to expect
Nothing more is lost, and transparency is kept. From lossy formats (JPG, WebP, AVIF) the PNG is usually several times bigger; from BMP and uncompressed TIFF it's usually smaller. An SVG is drawn sharp at its own size.
Recommended settings
There's no Quality — PNG is lossless. Set Resize to scale big photos down; an SVG with no size of its own is drawn 1,024 px on its longest side.
Where it opens
Everywhere: editors, design tools, office suites, browsers, phones and upload forms.
Good to know
- Animated GIFs and WebPs give their first frame; choose WebP or GIF to keep them moving.
- PNG can't undo earlier JPG or WebP compression.
- HEIC photos can't be read.
How to do it
- Choose your images, or drop or paste them on the page — any mix of formats.
- Each is set to PNG. Change one on its own row if you like, and set Resize in Settings.
- Convert all, then download each PNG, or all of them in one .zip.
Questions
- Does converting to PNG improve quality?
- No — it keeps the image exactly as it is now, so nothing more is lost when you edit it.
- Can I convert an SVG to PNG?
- Yes. It's drawn at the size the SVG gives, or 1,024 px on its longest side when it gives none, with transparency kept.
- Is transparency kept?
- Yes, from every format that has it: WebP, PNG, GIF, TIFF, AVIF, SVG, ICO and 32-bit BMP.
